Description
Anchor – Bruce – Hot-dipped Galvanized
The Bruce anchor, or “claw” anchor, is a popular, versatile, and affordable marine anchor known for its quick, consistent setting in sand, mud, and rock, often used on recreational boats. It features a three-prong claw design that self-rights and resists drag during wind shifts.
When to Use a Bruce (Claw) Anchor
- General Purpose/All-Around: Excellent for mixed seabeds (sand, mud, shingle, and, to some extent, rock).
Changing Conditions: - Known for its ability to quickly reset if the wind or tide changes.
- Bow Rollers: Ideal for storing on a bow roller/pulpit due to its shape.
- Best Conditions: Soft-to-medium seabeds; they struggle in hard sand or thick weed.
